PTSD and CPTSD Test
Evaluate your symptoms with a free personalised counsellor review!

The  questionnaire below is for you if you’re feeling overwhelmed and may be experiencing trauma-related symptoms. This quick and simple assessment will help you determine the likelihood that you are suffering from PTSD or CPTSD.

Don’t hesitate to take the first step in seeking support. Many people fear that  your concerns need to be more serious to seek help, but this questionnaire will help you understand the situation better.

It is essential to keep in mind that this questionnaire is not a diagnostic tool but a helpful initial step in your journey towards healing.

After you complete the questionnaire, we will need your contact information, as the results cannot be automatically scored.

A counsellor will review your results and send them to you by email. Rest assured, we do not use your email to spam, and you have the option to unsubscribe from further communication.

We recommend discussing your results with your GP or booking a free consultation with our counsellor to review your results and start recovering. You may

Have traumatic experiences left a lasting impact on your life?

  • Do you regularly feel helpless and unable to control your situation?
  • Do you have bouts of great terror or rage?
  • Do tiny annoyances cause you to get more frustrated?

Living with the aftereffects of trauma may be quite challenging. Trauma’s consequences may pervade all areas of your life, making routine tasks feel difficult. Panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, and a state of continuous vigilance can make you feel trapped in a never-ending horror. You may feel jittery and as if someone is always watching you, resulting to feelings of anxiety and mistrust.

These issues can cause the environment around you appear incredibly dangerous, and it seems that everything needs twice as much energy to complete as it would for someone who has not experienced trauma.

Trauma symptoms can have a significant impact on your physical and emotional health. However, it is critical to realise that you are not alone in your experience and that there is aid available to assist you in healing and overcoming the consequences of trauma.

Do you know the common types of trauma?

PTSD is a consequence of a stressful experience that endangers one’s life or safety. Some PTSD symptoms are natural in the days following a stressful experience, but they usually subside with time and care. On the other hand, severe anxiety and distress might last and interfere with work, relationships, and daily life. In these cases, obtaining support is essential for healing.

Long-term exposure to several traumatic experiences, particularly during childhood, such as abuse or neglect, causes complex trauma (CPTSD). These experiences can influence a child’s growth and self-formation. Therefore, complex trauma symptoms are similar to PTSD symptoms.

The effect that exposure to the tragic experiences of others can have on an individual’s psychological well-being is vicarious trauma. It is a type of trauma that emerges from observing or hearing about a horrific incident rather than experiencing it directly. This sort of trauma may be just as devastating as direct traumatic experiences and can impact first responders, healthcare workers, counsellors and witnesses of violence. So, you may suffer from vicarious trauma due to your recurrent exposure to traumatic events.

Breakups, pet loss, job loss, bullying, or rejection are minor traumatic experiences (little t-traumas) that produce substantial pain but do not entail violence or disaster. However, despite challenges, they may not constitute a physical threat, but they can elicit trauma reactions similar to those induced by traumatic trauma. Continuous exposure to minor traumatic events may be more emotionally damaging than a severely traumatic incident.

Effective trauma counselling: We're here for you with IFS, ACT, and more

When trauma hits hard, we are ready to work as a team so you don’t have to go through it alone. At Act Right Now Counselling Services, we have the knowledge and expertise to help you find relief and healing.

We use a variety of practical therapeutic approaches, including IFS (Internal Family System), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and polyvagal-informed therapies. We also incorporate somatic strategies to address the mind-body connection and help you find excellent balance and well-being.

Do you need your counselling during weekends, holidays, and in the late evening? No problem; we are unique since we will provide appointments at no additional cost, even if you book at the last minute. We are here to assist you in making it simple to prioritise your mental health.

There is no reason to give up if you have previously tried therapy and have not experienced the desired outcomes.

Instead, we use a tailored and collaborative approach to treatment, adapting our policy using methodologies like IFS (Internal Family System), which has benefited when cognitive therapies like CBT and Talk Therapy have failed.

Convenient Online Counselling

Online counselling, often known as teletherapy or cyber counselling, is a therapy in which clients contact mental health practitioners through the internet.

Research conducted at the University of Zurich analysed the efficacy of internet therapy over traditional face-to-face therapy for individuals with depression and anxiety. According to the study, 57% of patients who finished online counselling were depressed-free, compared to 42% of those who got traditional face-to-face counselling.

Let’s see some reasons why online counselling is better than face-to-face:  expenses for transportation, parking, babysitting, and other miscellaneous costs can be eliminated. Online counselling also provides greater flexibility in scheduling, as appointments can be made anytime and anywhere with an internet connection. Additionally, online counselling can offer a sense of anonymity and comfort for those who may feel more at ease communicating through a screen rather than in person.
